We start our journey in the evening from London, heading towards Dover or Folkestone for our crossing to Calais. We’ll either take a ferry or the Euro Tunnel train, passing through UK and French immigration and security. Overnight, we travel through France, Belgium, and possibly Luxembourg, so we recommend keeping essential toiletries handy.
The next day begins with a morning stop for breakfast after our overnight travel, followed by a visit to Rhine Falls in Switzerland. By 18:00, we anticipate arriving in Zurich.
Following an early breakfast on the subsequent day, we’ll set off for Interlaken. Those interested can join an optional excursion to Mt. Jungfrau. In the evening, we return to our hotel in Zurich.
Our journey continues with a drive to Zurich, where we’ll explore the city center or enjoy the beautiful Lake Zurich. Afterward, we’ll head to Lucerne, visiting landmarks such as the Chapel Bridge and the Lion Monument. Optionally, from Lucerne, participants can embark on a trip to Mt. Titlis. We’ll spend the night in Strasbourg.
On the final day early breakfast, you’ll have 1.5 hours to explore Strasbourg on foot. After checking out, we depart at 9 AM for Calais. Depending on the location, we head towards Calais for our crossing to Dover or Folkestone. Our journey concludes with our return to London late in the evening.
Note:Â
We are accepting reservations until July 17th for the Switzerland trip. After this date, we will assess whether we have reached the minimum number of participants required. If the minimum is met, we will commence visa processing. Prior to this date, we do not recommend that participants apply for visas specifically for this trip.
Itinerary
In the evening, we depart from London to Dover or Folkestone for your crossing to Calais. Please have your passports ready as we will pass through UK and French immigration and security.
After arriving in mainland Europe, we will proceed directly towards Switzerland, passing through France, Belgium, and possibly Luxembourg.
Tonight, we will cover a significant distance and travel through the night. We recommend that you keep any essentials you may need during the journey with you, including a small wash bag with essential toiletries.
In the morning, we will stop to freshen up at service areas after the overnight drive, where you can purchase your own breakfast.
We will then continue our journey, passing through the Black Forest region of Germany and into Schaffhausen, a city in northeastern Switzerland located on the River Rhine near the German border. Upon arrival, take the time to admire the prime tourist attraction of the Rhine Falls, Europe’s largest open-plain waterfalls. Included in this visit is a 30-minute boat ride, allowing you to get up close to the falls. You will have the opportunity to take a quick trip to the center of the falls on the erosion-resistant rock or simply enjoy the beauty from the banks of the River Rhine with the Wörth Castle in the background.
After visiting the Rhine Falls, we will continue our journey towards the Hotel in Zurich. We anticipate arriving at the hotel by 18:00.
We start the day with an early breakfast before heading out on the coach towards Interlaken.
Spend the day in Interlaken, a charming town nestled between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. The Höheweg is Interlaken’s main street, running between Interlaken West and Interlaken Ost Railway Stations. Enjoy shopping for souvenirs along the high street or simply admire the stunning views of the Bernese Alps. Take a stroll through the Kursaal Garden, where you can see a 350 kg statue of the renowned Indian filmmaker, the late Yash Chopra.
For those not opting for the Mt Jungfrau excursion, you will have the full day in Interlaken. We recommend planning activities as Interlaken is a small town and you may find limited things to do unless you explore the various activities on offer.
For those choosing the Mt Jungfrau optional tour, you will head towards the Lauterbrunnen Valley, the deepest U-shaped valley in the world, with cliffs rising sheer 1,000 meters on either side. Enjoy a breathtaking train journey on a cogwheel train up to the top of Mt. Jungfrau at 3,454 meters above sea level. At the summit, explore the Ice Palace with its life-sized ice sculptures carved from the glacier, visit the Sphinx observation tower for spectacular views of the Aletsch Glacier and surrounding peaks, and on a clear day, you can even see as far as Italy. Spend some time buying souvenirs and chocolates before meeting at the designated point for the journey back down.
This tour is a payable optional excursion.
After a jam-packed day in Interlaken, we will return to our hotel in Zurich. With a day full of memories, get a good night’s sleep in preparation for another adventurous day tomorrow.
After breakfast today, We then drive north towards the commercial capital of Zurich. Upon arrival in Zurich, you will have one hour of free time to discover the city center by foot. Alternatively, simply admire the beautiful Lake Zurich. Use this free time to get a snapshot of Zurich’s city center.
We make our way and board our coach to head to the beautiful city of Lucerne.
For those not opting for the Mt. Titlis excursion, you will have much time in Lucerne.
In Lucerne, spend time admiring Lake Lucerne, the fourth largest lake in Switzerland, with Mt. Pilatus, Mt. Rigi, and the Swiss Alps in the background. Take a wonderful walk around the Old Town and shop to your heart’s content along the pretty cobbled streets, featuring top high street fashion names. Don’t forget to walk and view the Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke), the famous 204-meter long wooden covered bridge originally built in 1333, regarded as the oldest covered bridge in Europe. Later, visit the Lion Monument (the Lion of Lucerne), a rock relief designed by Bertel Thorvaldsen. It commemorates the Swiss Guards who were massacred in 1792 during the French Revolution when revolutionaries stormed the Tuileries Palace in Paris. The carving is often heralded as “the most mournful and moving piece of stone in the world.
